Capital Grill-Inner Harbor
If you want to have a fantastic meal with a fantastic experience and want to spend a lot of money...then go to Capital Grill!  If you want to order any decent bottle of wine from anywhere ever then they probably have it!  I made reservations on Open Table under Mike's name so I was referred as Mr. Snyder all night so I thought that was pretty neat.  Anyway...about the food.

We had our options of waters (not surprising for an upscale establishment)
The bread they brought to the table was excellent (yes I love carbs)
We ordered French Onion soup to share that was out of this world amazing.

When the waiter explained the specials and the steaks I was a little bit overwhelmed but in the end we both chose to have the Filet.  I will say that it was probably one of the best cooked Filets that I have ever had but I didn't care for the flavor as much.  I will take complete responsibility for ordering something I didn't love but I thought I would try something different.  Heather loved her steak and it was also cooked to her perfection.  We shared the Au gratin potatoes and Asparagus.  I didn't love the Asparagus but the potatoes were amazing.

Heather got Creme Brulee for desert and it was fantastic...may have been the best I have had. I would go again but I would only go if I got a bonus or I was celebrating something huge.
Tavern on the Hill-Mt. Vernon
Mike and I went to Tavern on the Hill (Previously Howards) last night for the first time since they opened on Friday.  I think this place is exactly what the neighborhood needed. The outside looks inviting and not as scary as it use to be.  They have a Happy Hour everyday from 4P-7P and then 10P-Close.  The bar manager said that they would be open during the week until midnight and serve food until 11:30PM.  We went in after volleyball last night and got a Chicken Quesadilla.  It was loaded with veggies, chicken, and cheese...needless to say it was excellent!  We also had their drink special ($1.50 off all whiskey's).  I'm not a huge whiskey fan but I had the bartender make me something and it was excellent.  This place has a lot of seating and they serve breakfast morning and night.  I hope that this place will be able to stay open for awhile.

Side note...the two owners are the Bill's Carpet and Next Day Floor guys..you may recognize them from their commercials on tv.
Adam's Eve-Foster St. Canton/Highlandtown
Mike and I have been to Adam's Eve a couple of times since it has re-opened.  The owners are a nice younger couple.  They have some really good ideas and have been fixing up the place.  They just added some new windows and a new door.  They also have a restaurant attached in the back.  It seems to be a popular place.  If you are in the mood for a really good burger and at a discount...check it out on Tuesday's.  The nacho's were also amazing.  Not Annabelle Lee's amazing but close...and huge portions.  They also have a nicely stocked bar.  The wine selection was not great but that seems to be typical for the area.

Baltimore Food

I grew up in a small town in NW Ohio and moved to Baltimore in 2005.  I live in the Canton/Patterson Park area and eat out most nights.  Many people ask me for recommendations so I figured I would start this Blog to let you know where you should go check out.  I'm sure I will miss many places but I will try to Blog as much as I can and feel free to comment or ask questions.  I love a good deal, red wine, and basic midwestern food.  Here are some of my favorite restaurants.  I will continue to post as we go to places.  In the meantime check out the below places.

Peters Inn-Ann St between Fleet and Eastern
Probably one of the best Filet Mignon's I have ever had.  When you go make sure you get the salad, garlic bread and you MUST get the Cheese Grits.  You will want to go there for a nice date night or if you have someone coming to town you should go.  They do not take reservations but they have nice bartenders to keep you occupied.  They have limited outside seating and not many tables in the restaurant.  If you live in the area it is a must. #steak #datenight

Birroteca-Hampden
This is one of our new favorite restaurants.  They have amazing pasta dishes and great pizza's.  The cheese plate options are endless and they have a great wine list.  One of the best things about this place is they have parking!!  This place can be a little pricey so make sure you check out the menu online before you go.  You also will have a hard time getting in unless you make a reservation or you can always sit at the bar.  They have a large rectangle bar.  You would most likely go here for a nice double date or small party.  It can get loud inside but you should really check the place out.  #pasta #datenight

Johnny Rad's
The only bad thing about this place is there is no parking.  If you live in the area and can walk then you should go there right now!  The pizza is amazing, the vegetarian options are legit, and the staff is beyond awesome!  They even have a backroom with ski-ball if you want to have a private party.  We had our rehearsal dinner there because the people are awesome and super cool.  When you go get the fried edamame and if you like Cosmo's have Adam make you one.  They have a really good beer list and it is a relaxing place to go.  I don't believe they take reservations but they are fairly quick to get you a spot. #pizza #group #bargames
